Yum Yum Good

We had spaghetti tonight for dinner. And I took some pictures of Keegan after he was finished eating. Courtney was less messy, but just as cute!

Courtney is getting her hearing tested on Friday, so that should be interesting. I will try to blog after the appointment. Potty training is still going very good. I can't wait until she is completely done with diapers.

Keegan had his one year re-evaluation with early intervention last Thursday. Everything looks good. They evaluate speech, fine motor, gross motor and social interaction. He did great in every area, he was right where he should be for everything but his gross motor. But that wasn't surprising. His gross motor came out to be at a 10 month old level. So we still have work to do there. But it's only because of the surgeries that has set him back, not because he has a developmental problem. With continued help and encouragement, I believe he will catch up to his age group.

Hello!

Hello everyone. It's been awhile since I've had a moment to be able to blog. And even as I am blogging now, Keegan is pulling on my leg and crying to be picked up. It's almost nap time.

Courtney has started potty training, and it is going really well. For about the past week she has been in underwear, and so far only one accident. She is very excited and hopefully she will continue to transition easily.

Keegan is still doing very well. He is teething though. So he has been fussy and unhappy. It seems the kinds of foods he likes is getting smaller. He eats a lot of chicken nuggets. We are still dealing with his separation anxiety and he still isn't walking. But all in all, he is good.

Everday Stuff

Our Christmas Picture

Life has gone back to normal. Everything is still going very well. Courtney is happy to get back to playgroup. She goes once a week, and loves it. She gets to paint and color and play with all kinds of messy stuff. It has been a great place for her to meet kids her age, and to start getting used to not having mommy around. Although she never has a problem leaving me when there are toys and other kids involved.

Keegan is still recovering very nicely. He is doing so good. He is playing and eating very well. He does have some separation issues. He has a difficult time when I leave. It has been very frustrating for us. If anyone has any good suggestions to help over come this stage of life, please let us know.

Keegan is getting braver. He will stand and not hold on to anything for almost a minute. He has been working with a therapy group called Early Intervention, since he was 6 months, to help get him caught up on his gross motor skills. They come to our house twice a week to work with Keegan. Once he is fully recovered, we are hoping to start working on walking. I know he can do it, he just needs to learn how to balance better.

Happy New Year

Happy New Year Everyone! We had a very good Christmas and New Year. My parents were here to celebrate Christmas with us. Courtney and Keegan had lots of fun opening presents. I think Keegan was more excited about tearing the wrapping paper then the toys. Courtney was very excited and said everything was "so pretty." They are still having lots of fun playing with all their new toys.

We spent New Years alone. We didn't even stay up until midnight. We both were to sleepy to stay up. I think this is the first year I haven't stayed awake until midnight.

Keegan continues to do very good. He is back to his old self and is now getting into trouble. He realized that he can now fight over toys with Courtney. And being children, they always want what the other one has. So it has been interesting to see them acting like brother and sister. I'm sure this is just a small taste of what is to come in the future.

Keegan had a check up with his cardiologist on December 27, and his doctor was very happy with the progress Keegan is making. He doesn't have to go back for 2 months. He has a sedated echo scheduled on February 28. His incision is healing very nicely. And his fingers and toes are not so blue anymore.

I hope everyone has a wonderful start of the New Year and may God bless you everyday.
